Barbara A. (Dehart) Mahaffey, 70, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont, in Beaumont, Texas. 

On Thursday, August 1, 1946, in Jacksonville, Texas, Barbara was born to Inez Ray and Russell J. Dehart.  She was a happy and positive woman, who always had a smile on her face and loved to laugh.  Barbara enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking, and was famous for her bacon wrapped “Poppers”.  She also enjoyed growing her collection of pig figurines and collectables.  Barbara loved her children and loved her grandchildren even more.  She always made sure that all of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew “Maw maw” loved them. 

Proceeding Barbara in death are her parents and brother, Larry Dehart.

Those who will cherish Barbara’s memory most are her daughter, Kerry Messineo and spouse, Daniel Schlumbrecht; loving partner of 7 years, Billy Jones, Sr.; step-daughters, Teresa Bowling, Lara West, Cathy Briant, Carlene Jones Lindsey, and Sondra Hammond; step-son, Billy Jones, Jr; brother, Jerry Dehart; sisters, Sandra Lewis and Patsy Garner; grandson, Chance Messineo and many others that she thought of as her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and many members of extended family and friends, who loved and will miss her dearly.

There are no services scheduled at this time.  Arrangements were made under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.
