Brian Wade “Sleepy” Thornton, age 40, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Memorial Herman Hospital, in Houston, Texas. 

Brian was born on October 20, 1976, to Sandra and Steven Thornton, in Austin, Texas.  He grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and resided in Orange, Texas, for the last 25 years.  Brian worked at Little Cypress Quick Lube for the better part of 15 years and worked at A1 Glass in Beaumont, Texas, for the last three years.  Brian was a good hearted man that always tried to brighten someone’s day.  He was passionate about music and played drums in many local bands.  He was an avid supporter o the local music scene.

Preceding Brian in death is his mother, Sandra Kay Thornton.

Brian is survived by his daughter, Brittani Lane Thornton, of Knoxville, Tennessee; father, Steven Edward Thornton and his wife, Karen Abbe-Thornton; brother, Gregory Thornton; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, and friends.

A memorial gathering, celebrating his life, will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Dorman Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM `- 9:00 PM.

Brian was a very special person that touched the hearts and lives of many people.  His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.  He was loved very much and will be missed greatly.  May the force be with him!
