Bruce Garner Bennefield, Sr.

Bruce Garner Bennefield, Sr., age 85 passed away on Saturday March 17, 2018 in Coral Springs, Florida. Service to honor Bruce's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park. Family and  friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Dorman Funeral Home.

Bruce was born in San  Augustine, Texas on October 28, 1932 to Edna Allen Wood Bennefield and John Coley Bennefield. He retired working as a Rigger with US Steel. Bruce was a member of 9th and Elm Church of Christ. While living in Florida attended the Coral Springs Christian Church. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Coley and Edna Allen Bennefield, great-grandson, David Andrew Smith and sister Katie Mavis Morrison. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his children Bruce Garner Bennefield, Jr. of Deweyville, TX, Kathy Smith of Coral Springs, Fl and Paula Parker of Laconia, NH. One brother, Glen Bennefield of Lufkin, Texas. Eight grandchildren and Thirteen great grandchildren.
