Edna Pearl Montgomery, age 79 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 in Sulpher, Louisiana. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Friendship Bible Baptist Church in Vidor, Texas with Brother Kennie Moldaners officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to services at Friendship Baptist Church from 11 AM until 2 PM. Services are under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home. Edna was born on July 8, 1938 in Orange, Texas to Della Mae (McDonald) and Calvin Block.

Edna was a wonderful woman that was highly thought of by many people. She was always there to lend a helping hand whenever she could. She lived in a very close community of neighbors that all looked out for one another and cherished the memories with Ms. Edna. When her health allowed, she loved attending Hartburg Baptist Church in Hartburg, Texas and taking part in worship with all her church friends and family. Edna's whole life revolved around her only child, David Montgomery and her grandchildren. She loved them all dearly and shared a very special bond with the three boys. Edna spent countless days taking care of her parents when they became unable to do it themselves and took pride in doing such. She was a very independent, opinionated woman and was very proud of that. Edna never asked anyone for anything and expected nothing from anyone.

Edna is preceded in death by her parents, Della Mae McDonald and Calvin Block; husband, Clyde Montgomery; brother, Leo Carter (L.C.) Block and one sister.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, David Montgomery of Orange, TX; brothers, Jerry Wayne Block and wife Jane, Calvin Block, JR.; sisters, Sheila Lester and husband Ray, Helen Hill; grandchildren, David Allen Montgomery and Christopher Lee Montgomery and 6 Great Grandchildren.
