On March 20, 2017, at 7:01 PM, James Glen Courmier, of Deweyville, Texas, closed his eyes and fell asleep; God took away his pain. Funeral service, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held at 12:00 PM, on Friday, March 24, 2017, at Hartburg Baptist Church, in Deweyville, Texas; Rev. Charles Bonner officiating.  Visitation will be held at Hartburg Baptist Church on Friday, March 24, 2017, at 10:00 AM until service time.  Rite of Committal and Interment will be held, following the funeral service, at Lee Cemetery, in Vinton, Louisiana.

James loved his music, sunshine, and RV trips; He loved life to the fullest.  James loved his siblings and they always brought a smile to his face when he heard their voices.  He always enjoyed visits from his niece and nephews; Natalie always had such joy in her eyes when she helped James’ mother feed him and give him his medication, Austin always checked on James and was always willing to share his toys, Timothy enjoyed listening to music with James on James’ iPod and clapping along, Hagen visited James’ bedside on every visit to say ‘Hey!’, and Gavin enjoyed always being to share James’ room for naps.  James’ family is all lost without him, but God’s plan for James has just begun. 

James in preceded in death by his grandparents, James H. Courmier, Peggy W. Courmier, Elton E. Hyatt, and Jackie S. Hyatt.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Pamela K. and James T. Courmier; step-grandmother, Theresa L. Courmier; siblings, Josh Courmier, and his wife, Amanda, Jacob Courmier and his wife, Lauren, and Jessi Gautreaux and her husband, Jonathon; aunt, Eleshia Reel, who always took the time on her visits to hold his hand and talk with him; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, who all loved him dearly.

Honoring James as Pallbearers are Josh Courmier, Jacob Courmier, Jonathon Gautreaux, Bobby Reel, Scott Hyatt, and Steve Hyatt; Honorary Pallbearers are Austin Gautreaux, Timothy Courmier, Hagen Courmier, and Gavin Gautreaux.
