John Edwin Schultz

June 27, 1928 ~ December 15, 2017 (age 89) 89 Years Old

John Edwin Schultz, age 90, of Buffalo, New York, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in the cloister room, in Beaumont, Texas, with Father Tony Clark officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home. The address to the church is, 680 Calder, Beaumont, Texas.

John was born on Tuesday, June 28, 1927, in Buffalo, New York to Edna Lucy Schultz and Adolph Carl Schultz. He was a lifelong resident of Buffalo, New York and had only recently moved to Texas in the last 3 years. John was of the protestant faith and was a long time member of, Zion United Church of Christ in Tonawanda, New York. John met the love of his life, the late Jane Schultz, when he was just 12 years old, as they were attending the same church. They were married for 65 blissful years. John was a soldier in the United States Navy during WWII and was proud to help fight for the freedom of his country. After his time in the Navy, John made his career as a sales representative at the Hardware Supply store in Buffalo where he worked until he retired. He was one of the kindest, sweetest people you would ever have the pleasure of meeting. John enjoyed many things in life such as gardening, fishing, wood work, drawing, playing cards, writing poems, music and singing, just to name a few. Though, out of all the time spent doing things, spending time with family was John's favorite thing to do. It was always the best kind of time well spent. John was a very proud member of a group called, "ATB", (Always True Buddies), which was created by John and about 20 other people that had been friends their entire life since kindergarten. They would always meet once a month to visit, eat and catch up on what had been happening in one another's lives. It was a very special group of friends with an unforgettable bond. There are some members of the group still living today.

A very special thank you from the family to Compassion Hospice and Brittney for all your kindness, help, love and guidance.

John is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Jane Schultz; parents, Adolph and Edna Schultz; two brothers, Donald Schultz and William Schultz and sister; Lorraine Manger.
