Joseph Doucet, age 69, went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in Port Arthur, Texas. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Hodges officiating.  Interment will follow at Autumn Oaks Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Dorman Funeral Home.

Joseph was born on January 22, 1947 to the late Louisa Johnson Doucet and Julian Doucet in Crowley, Louisiana. He graduated from Crowley High School in 1967 before joining the United States Army during the Vietnam War; where he received a Purple Heart. Joseph attended Southwest Louisiana Technical Community College and received an associate's degree in Radio and  TV Electronics.  He retired from The Cloeren Compay. Joseph loved church and diligently studied the Bible and taught Sunday school for many years. He cherished his family and his favorite pastime was fishing.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Freddie Doucet, Sr. and Charles Doucet and two sisters, Alice Broussard and Lucy Chevelon.

Survivors include his two brothers, George Doucet and his wife Marsha of Port Arthur, TX and Camey Doucet and his wife Deanna of Lafayette, LA. Two sisters, Mary Broussard of Orange, TX and Lydia Sims and her husband Roy of Rosenburg, TX, and brother-in-law Donald Chevalon of New Iberia, Louisiana. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family thanks Compassion Hospice for the care provided to Joseph during his illness.
