Katherine Sue (LaBleu) Almaguer, 72, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at the Southeast Texas Medical Center, in Port Arthur, Texas.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at Dorman Funeral Home; Pastor W.W. Smith of  the United Pentecostal Church of Pinehurst officiating.  Rite of Committal and Interment will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery, in Orange, Texas.  Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the funeral service from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at Dorman Funeral Home.

Katherine was born on Wednesday, June 13, 1945, in Orange, Texas, to parents Bertie (David) and Arthur LaBleu, Sr.  She was a lifelong resident of Orange, Texas, and was of the Pentecostal faith, and attended the United Pentecostal Church of Pinehurst.  Katherine was a loving woman with a true heart of gold, who would give you the shirt off her back without question.  Family was what was most important to Katherine and she worked hard to provide for them in every way she could. Katherine, whose kindness and hard work ethic reached many by word of mouth alone, worked as a private healthcare provider for 15 years.  In her spare time, Katherine enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and staying active.  Katherine was a mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceding Katherine in death are her parents, whom she always enjoyed revisiting their memories with her family, Arthur, Sr. and Bertie LaBleu;  first husband and father of  her eldest children, David Elmore; and second husband and father of her youngest children, Ignacio Almaguer, Sr.

Those who will cherish Katherine’s memory most are her daughters, Lesia Herman and husband, Ronnie, Sr., of Orange, Texas, and Ruby Smith and husband, Andrew Stacy, of Orange, Texas; sons, David Elmore and wife, Diane of Bridge City, Texas, and Ignacio Almaguer, Jr. and fiancé, Melinda Risinger, of West Orange, Texas; brother, Arthur LaBleu of West Orange, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous members of extended family, and friends.

Honoring Katherine as Pallbearers are David Elmore, Ignacio Almaguer, Jr., Slade Swinburn, Darryl Evans, Timmy McGee, and Shaun Fitton.
