April 8, 1924 ~ October 18, 2017 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Louise “Beesie” Passmore, age 93 of Vinton, LA, passed away in Corpus Christi, Texas on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 where she was residing with her daughter and son-in-law. Friends and family will gather for a visitation on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Dorman Funeral Home. Services will begin at 2:00 pm at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tom Haas officiating. Interment will follow at Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly, Louisiana.

Louise, known as “Beesie” to many, was raised on a farm in the small town of Henry, LA.  She spent much of her childhood helping her father gather sugarcane and cotton and enjoying the simplicity of life in the late twenties, even as the depression hit.  She worked in the Livingston shipyard during her early 20s and was quite the “smart cookie” as she often interpreted for the French Acadians working in the plant. She got married in 1946 to a widower with three daughters, aged 10, 5 and 2; the youngest of which named her “Beesie” as she attempted to call her Louise.  She loved and cared for them as her own and instantly became what Doris refers to her as their “giftmother”.  A year after marriage, she and her husband also had another daughter.  She then became a homemaker caring for the four girls and remained involved in their many activities.   Her seamstress skills were impeccable as she sewed all of their clothes, including formals.  She was also known for her gracious hospitality, warm smile, sense of humor, delicious meals, sweet treats and her love of the Lord.

Louise was born in Henry, Louisiana on April 8, 1924 to Oleta Landry Dugas and Ignace Dugas.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Oris Passmore, her brother Preston Dugas, her sisters Agnes Baudoin and Lena Thibodeaux, two daughters Elizabeth Fuller and Jeanie Hill, and two grandchildren Robin Theriot and Ricky Theriot.

Survivors include her daughter, Myrtie Sage and her husband Royle of Corpus Christi, TX and Doris Coates of Knoxville, TN.  Other survivors include her grandchildren Christine Theriot-Craig, Theri Theriot Conley, Tom Hill, Blair Hill, Valencia Dent, Scott Gilly and Heather Aleman.  She is also survived by  21  great grandchildren,17 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family.

Pallbearers will be Frank Fuller, Tom Hill, Scott Gilly, Josh Wood, Adam Craig and Steve Craig. Honorary pallbearers will be Royle “Budd” Sage and James Aleman.
