Luther Hoosier, 68, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017, at Harbor Hospice, in Beaumont, Texas.  Arrangements were made under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.

 

Luther was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on Monday, July 5, 1948, to Jenitty (Ramey) and Buckshot Hoosier.  He served in the United States Army before coming back to Orange, Texas, to work as a Parts Salesman.  Luther was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Community Christian Church.  He was married to his wife, Gail Hoosier, for 45 years, before her passing.  Luther was a family man who always put his family first.  He loved spending time all the time who could with his grandchildren and his animals; dog, Nut Nut, and his chickens. Luther was a dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be missed by all.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gail Hoosier; sister, Virginia Ruth; and brother, Juan Hoosier.

 

Those who will cherish his memory most are his daughters, Delaina Hoosier and Kurt Vincent, of Orange, Texas, and Mariann Bonvillain and Bernie of Crosby, Texas; sons, Jack Hoosier, of Orange, Texas, and David Steverson, of Silsbee, Texas; girlfriend, Raquel Pierce; sister, Nellie Fox and Robert, of Orange, Texas; grandchildren, Alexandra White, Joseph White, Matthew White, Timothy Hoosier, Kayla Smith, Eric Fregia, and Johnathon Fregia; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Jordan, Williams, and Gabe; nieces, Donna Motley and Johnny Burr, Judy Motley, Debbie Ware and David, Christina Lewis, Cheyanne Allen, Little Anne, and Abby Foster; nephews, Preston Lewis, Danny Placette, and Ashton; and many members of extended family and friends.
