Madison Selph

January 11, 1930 ~ November 1, 2017 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Madison Dow Selph, age 87 of Orange, Texas, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Services to remember Madison's life will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Remnant Faith Church, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, with Reverend Billy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Cedar Grove Cemetery. Family and friends will gather for a visitation prior to services at Remnant Faith Church from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

Madison was born in Galveston, Texas on January 11, 1930 to Isla Dow (Cox) and  Harlem Madison Selph. He grew up in the surrounding Houston, Texas area and later moved to Trinity, Texas where he lived all of his adult life until moving to Orange, Texas in April 2015 to live the rest of his life with loving family. He loved attending Remnant Faith Church in Trinity, Texas where he was a proud member of the Pentecostal Faith for many, many years. He was also a very proud member of a singing group that were called, "The Youngins". They would sing at all the local churches during events while giving God all the praise and glory. Madison worked all his life as a carpenter. He was self employed and very proud of that. He built many beautiful places and things. Madison was a very funny guy who just thoroughly enjoyed life and living! Making jokes and picking fun was one of his favorite past times. When he wasn’t doing those things, he loved to practice his photography skills while he traveled to numerous different National Forests campsites. Big Bend National Park was one of their all times favorites. While he would take beautiful pictures, his wife would paint beautiful portraits of the scenery. He loved his wife of 38 years, the late Ruby Grace Selph, and the Lord most of all, who never seemed to fail him.

There’s a lot to be said about Family that supports and stands by one another at all times. The family of Mr. Madison Selph would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all the family and friends for all their love and support throughout everything. A special thank you to all the phenomenal healthcare nurses and staff who went above and beyond to make sure that Madison was well taken care of.
