Michael Edward "Mike" Porter, age 54 of Trinity, Texas passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Dorman Funeral Home chapel with Sister Ruth Burch officiating. Visitation for family and friends will the held from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, at Dorman Funeral Home, on Monday, Jul 17, 2017. Rite of Committal and Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park.

Michael was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on December 7, 1962, to Emogene Anglain Porter and Edward Eugene Porter. Michael grew up in St. Pete Florida and later resided in Trinity, Texas.  He graduated from St. Pete High School and later received an associate’s degree from Windam College, and Lee College in Baytown, Texas. At the age of 14, Mike began working in a local paint and body shop and from then on out he continued to work diligently. Mike was a man truly devoted to his craft and most recently worked in the construction industry as a carpenter. His infectious smile could brighten anyone's day. Mike was much loved and will be greatly missed. 

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Edith Elliot, brother, Shawn Porter, and a niece, Nicole Regel.

Survivors include his parents, Edward and Emogene Porter, of Trinity, TX; brother, David Porter and his wife, Susan, of Bridge City, Texas; sisters; Linda Frederick and her husband, Charles, of Orange, Texas, and Lisa Gonzales and her husband, Mike, of Mauriceville, Texas.
