On Friday, September 17, 1948, in Orange, Texas, Randy was born to Myrtle (Duhon) and Charles J. Benoit, and remained a lifelong resident of the Orange area.  He was a 1966 graduate of Orangefield High School and following his education, went on to work for DuPont, where he retired after 35 years as an Instrument Specialist, in 2006.  Randy was a man who loved his family dearly and always worked hard to support his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Elizabeth (Sadler) and their children.  Randy was a devout Christian man and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon for 44 years.  In 1993, Randy was one of the men that came forward to help build the Cornerstone Baptist Church’s current building; a place where he was always proud to worship.  After Sunday service, Randy always enjoyed spending the afternoon with his dad and brother, drinking coffee and talking about what was going on in the world.  Randy volunteered his time at the Thrift and Gift Shop in Orange and, for almost 10 years, at the Cormier Museum, in Orangefield.  He also was a talented woodworker and was always making toys for his grandchildren, and wood crafts for the children at church.  No matter the sporting event or program, whether it was at the church or at school,   ‘P-Paw’ was always there to show his love and support for his grandchildren, as their #1 Fan.  Randy was a husband, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who will be missed by all those who knew him.

Preceding Randy in death is his mother, Myrtle Benoit.

Randy is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Benoit; father, Charles J. Benoit; son, Kirk Benoit; daughters, Christy Benoit and Kellie Sheffield, and her husband, Patrick; brother, Terry Charles Benoit and his wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Randi Elizabeth Hagan and her husband, Michael, Jordan Anne Benoit, Kirklin Randal Benoit, Julian Randal Benoit, Colt Allen Sheffield, Brooklin Elizabeth Sheffield, and Kennadee Elizabeth Sheffield; and great-grandson, Cameron Reed Benoit.
