Shirley Ann Hatcher passed away peacefully on a sunny afternoon in Rogers, Arkansas, where she had moved several years ago to be cared for by her favorite niece Gay Lyn Tynes and husband Glenn. 

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, in 1931, to Edwin J. Lee And Katie Lee, she enjoyed a happy childhood surrounded by aunts, uncles and many cousins. She enjoyed visits with her special cousin, Mary Edna, in Tyler, Texas.  Shirley accepted Christ as her Savior as a young woman at Friendship Baptist Church in Port Arthur.  She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1950 and began her career days with the telephone company, followed by many years in banking, first at Merchants Bank in Port Arthur, then at First Savings Association in Orange. 

Shirley always enjoyed her Sunday School class at MacArthur Heights Baptist Church in Orange, and her friends at Optimist Village. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, William D. Hatcher, who spoiled and pampered her for 35 years, her parents and her dear sister Joyce M. Falgout. 

Left to enjoy memories of her are nieces Susan Ory and husband Ray,  Gay Lyn Tynes and husband Glenn, Linda Hudson, Nancy Falgout, Carol Dillard and husband Mike, many great nieces and nephews and her dear friend and partner in Saturday afternoon shopping sprees, Ann Bennett. 

Shirley is also survived by step-sons Kenneth Hatcher and wife Karla, and Michael Hatcher and step-grandchildren Tori, Bettina and Fleming.

Funeral service will be held at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange Thursday at 2:00, with Rev. Jay Thomas, pastor of MacArthur Heights Baptist Church officiating. Visitation beginning at 1:00 prior to the service.
