Bedford Lee Brewer

Bedford Lee Brewer, age 89 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Saturday March 2, 2019 in Orange.  A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chad Kibodeaux officiating.  Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service for visitation.

Bedford was born in Dallas, Texas on May 6, 1929 to Marguerite Anderson Brewer and Berlin Daniel Brewer.  He proudly served in the United States Navy and the Merchant Marines.  Bedford was a member of the Nathan Corley Masonic Lodge#294 of Kirbyville, Tx.  He was a Past Master and Former District Deputy of the Grand Lodge of Texas.  He was also a member of Newton Chapter #224 and Hemphill Chapter #375 Order Of The Eastern Star and was a Past Patron.

He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Brewer, parents Berlin and Marguerite Brewer and brother Glenn Brewer.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Jeanean Rodgers and her husband Jacky of Mauriceville, TX, James Lee Brewer and his wife Sharon of Mauriceville, TX, and Gary Brewer and his wife Rosetta of Orange, TX, brother J.A. Brewer and his wife Clara of Orange, TX, six grandchildren; Michelle Neece and her husband Greg, Marcus Brister and his wife Stephanie, Michael Brewer and his wife Lindsey, DeWayne Brewer and his wife Melissa, Travis Brewer and his wife Tammi, and Wesley Brewer and his wife Nicole and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express a special “thank you” to the staff of Sabine Place, especially Cheri, Debbie and Jean and to Kindred Hospice for the wonderful care, support and love they showed “Lee” during the sunset of his life.  Also, a special thanks to Ms. Ruth Lucas and son Michael Lucas for their friendship and love.
