Clifford Joseph Monic, age 85, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral arrangements, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas, with family and friends welcome from 8 am until service time. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 am until 8 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm, at Dorman Funeral Home.
Clifford was born on Sunday, August 28, 1932, in Kaplan, Louisiana, to parents Benite (Mire) and Joseph Monic. He had been a resident of Orange, Texas since 1956, after moving from Kaplan, Louisiana. He was of the Catholic Religion and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange, Texas. Being a very devout member of the Catholic community, Clifford loved the lord and trusted in him fully. Clifford found the love of his life when he met Marie (Choate). They were married for 59 blissful years. Clifford was a very caring, loving, understanding man who loved his family and worked very hard to provide for them. He worked for Equitable Bag Company as a machine tender for 40 years before he retired. Gardening was one of his favorite things to do, as it kept him active and made him happy. He also loved to play his fiddle with a group of musicians called, Friday Night Jam. Playing the fiddle and making beautiful music was something that made Clifford very happy and fulfilled. Going to the casinos and winning big money was also something that made him happy. He was known to win big on more than one occasion. Clifford was a soldier in the United States Army and served his country in the Korean War.
Clifford is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Marie (Choate) Monic and parents, Joseph and Benite Monic.
Clifford is survived by his children, Ricky Monic of Orange, Texas, Sharlene Monic of Abbeville, Louisana and Tony Monic and wife Annette of Orange, Texas; Grandchildren, Kristofer Bryan Monic, Brandi Sagrera Sebren, Kenneth Wayne Monic, Bridgette Monic Ardoin and Laurie Parks; Great-Grandchildren, Matthew Vice, Brandon Townsend, Lauren Townsend, Bailey Kate Sebren, Elliotte Slaten, Alec Ardoin, Aubrey Ardoin, Dewayne Monic and Gracie Monic.
