Dorothy Ann Burch, age 64, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2017. Services, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at First Baptist Church, in Orangefield, Texas, with Brother Bernard Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Wilkinson Cemetery, in Orange, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Services are under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born on November 6, 1953, in Mauriceville, Texas to Mavis Erdell (Permenter) and A.B. Hughes. She had been a resident of Mauriceville all of her life until moving to Little Cypress as an adult and was happy to live in the small town close to her loved ones. Dorothy was a proud Christian and attended Faith Harbor Church every chance she got. For a long time, Dorothy took part in playing the base guitar at church and loved every minute of it. She also took part in helping raise all the young ones in the family. Babysitting was a regular thing, as all the family knew that Dorothy's house was the best place for the babies to be while the parents worked. The house was always sure to be full of comfort, love and laughter.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Mavis (Permenter) and A.B. Hughes; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia Jo & Bobby Weatherford and grandson, Mason Fitzgerald.

Dororthy is survived by her husband of 33 years, Arnold Burch; daughter, Michele Burch; step-mother, Linda Hughes; brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Sherry Woods; brother, Paul McCaskill as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
