Geneva Ida Scales Mancill, age 84 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019 in Orange, Texas. Services to honor her life will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Dorman Funeral Home.
Geneva, better known as "BB", was born in Orange, Texas on June 23, 1935 to Katie Burke Scales and Austin Arizona Scales. She shared that birthday with her sweet twin sister, Jeanette. She graduated from Orangefield High School in 1954. She was a member of the basketball team and was voted as the "Best Athlete". Geneva was all about spending time with her family that she adored. She worked for many years with Temple Inland as a paper tester. Geneva also loved to fish and had a wonderful green thumb when it came to her plants.
She is preceded in death by her husband Martin Mancill, daughter Cindy Boudreaux, son Timmy Ware, brothers, Clyde Scales and Franklin Scales and four sisters; Nelda Evans, Margaret Granger, Doris Peveto and Jeanette Bouilion.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jay Ware of Vidor, TX and Randy Ware of Orange, TX. Nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Honoring Geneva as pallbearers will be Rocky Granger, Dustin Boudreaux, Rod Sheppard, Ricky Sheppard, Rusty Granger, Jason Ware, Bubba Ware and Barry Granger.
