Gordon Anthony Obituary

Gordon Fred Anthony passed from this life to his heavenly reward on October 26, 2019 in Beaumont, Texas.

Gordon was born on December 18, 1941 in Vivian, Louisiana to Lee and Ardella Anthony. He moved to Orange when he was in the third grade. He married Peggy Romero in 1961 and they lived in DeRidder, Louisiana and Vinton, Louisiana before moving back to Orange. Gordon was an avid West-Orange Stark football fan. He went to all of the games and loved cheering for the Mustangs. He was proud to have been awarded the "Mustang Super Fan".

Gordon was a member of the Pipefitter's Local No. 195 for 45 years. He had many wonderful experiences as a pipefitter, including working overseas.

The lights of Gordon's life were his five grandchildren. He loved his role as Pop and spent as much time as he could with them.

Gordon was a faithful member of First United Pentecostal Church in Orange.

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Ardella Anthony, and his brother Lee Allen Anthony and sister Francis Anthony. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Peggy Anthony of Orange, Texas, son Duane Anthony and his wife Karen of Orangefield, Texas, daughter Sheree Anthony Reynolds and her husband Joseph of La Marque, Texas, sister Mary Ann Clement and her husband Ed of Ashdown, Arkansas, sister Maxine Hayes and husband Ed of Mauriceville, Texas and grandchildren Molly Anthony, Isabella Reynolds, Edith Anthony, Boston Reynolds and Baylor Reynolds as well numerous other family member and friends.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at the church with Reverend Gary Wheeler officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers honoring Gordon will be: CL Watford, Jimmy Hayes, Devon Anders, Jaden Dillon, Caleb Myrick and Damon Mayfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon's brothers-in-law: Ed Hayes, Ed Clement, Harold Romero, Harry J. Wolf, Larry Mayfield and Hardy Duhon.
