James "Joe" Roy Tuter, age 74, of Kirbyville, Texas, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018 at his home. A memorial to honor Joe's life will be held at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Bickham officiating. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00 to 7:30 PM prior to the service on Wednesday at Dorman Funeral Home.
Joe was born in Springfield, Missouri on August 5, 1943 to Gladys Bodenhamer Tuter and Bob Tuter. Joe retired after 39 years of service as a mechanic for Dupont. He enjoyed growing a garden, raising animals and collecting old tractors that he liked to ride. Joe especially loved spoiling his grandchildren and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Gladys Tuter and two brothers, Bobby Tuter and Ronald Tuter.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Janice Tuter of Kirbyville, TX, his son James Tuter, Jr. and his wife Roxanne of Mauriceville, TX, a daughter Jeannie Locke of Mauriceville, TX, two step-daughters Donna Peveto and her husband Kerry of Coleman, TX and Debra Hughes and her husband Chris of Cypress, TX and three sisters; Linda Chrishop and her husband Sonny of Florida, Pam Strohm and her husband Harvill of Orange, TX, Debra Williams and her husband Ron of Orange, TX. Twelve grandchildren; Brittany Leffew, Kirsten Fournet, Sierra Locke, Reece Locke, Greggory Sullivan, Jerry Tofanelli, Megan White, Troy Wiley, Dusty Wiley, Audrey Ward, Joshua Wiley and Justin Wiley. Twelve great grandchildren. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends that will miss him very much.
