Jerald Peveto Obituary

Jerald Winston Peveto, 88 years of age of Orange, Texas, passed on October 15, 2018 at 11:30 PM while being a resident of "Family Cares Private Nursing Home". Family and friends will gather from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 18, 2018at Little Cypress Baptist Church on Little Cypress Drive. Services to honor Jerald's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Little Cypress Baptist Church with Brother David Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Wilkinson Cemetery on Wilkinson Road, off of FM 1130. 

Jerald was born on July 21, 1930 in Orange, Texas to John Henry Peveto and Thelma (Eddleman) Peveto. He graduated from Stark High School in 1947, having began his schooling at Little Cypress. On April 11, 1953, he married the former Elaine Richardson of Silsbee, Texas. He served in the United States Army National Guard 36th Infantry in Orange from 1950 -1959. He was a carpenter all his working years, retiring in 1995. He built many homes in Orange, worked at Spencer Chemical and Spaw Glass Construction Company. He had a part in the construction of the buildings of Little Cypress Baptist Church. The last being, "The Family Life Center". He had been a member of Little Cypress Baptist Church since 1947 until his passing. He served in various ways during this time; teaching Sunday School classes, The Royal Ambassadors and serving on many committees over the years. When a need was presented, he would accept it and stayed with it until it was complete. Along with the work, he was an avid hunter in duck, deer and squirrel seasons. He loved camping and didn't mind the rain and cold weather.

Jerald is preceded in death by his parents, John H. Peveto and Thelma Peveto; sister, Johnelle Peveto and brother, Weldon Peveto.

Jerald is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Peveto; three sons, Jerald Wayne Peveto and wife Glenda of Gist, TX, Michael Lane Peveto and wife Trudy of Montgomery, TX and Terryl Lynn Peveto and wife LaDawn of Mount Judea, Arkansas; grandchildren, Amanda Marie Peveto Gardovsky and husband Lathan, Blake Allen Peveto and wife Megan, Misty Nicole Peveto, Megan Nicole Peveto Sherrell and husband Jason, Amy Michelle Peveto and husband Jon and Dawn Marie Bush Wagner and husband Cliff; great grandchildren, Makenzie Paiyge Holland, Kyler Lathon Gardovsky, Oz Ryder Wagner, Piper Lynn Wagner, Nash Allen Peveto and Harper Grace Sherrell.
