Jewel Howard, 83 of Orange, passed from this life on Thursday April 27, 2017. Born in Leesville, Louisiana on Saturday, December 2, 1933. She was the daughter of Almon Carlock and Ola (Haymon) Carlock.

Jewel was a gentle, beautiful, loving, daughter, wife, mother, grandma, MeMe, sister, Aunt, and wonderful friend. She was known for how kind she always was and for her sweet smile. She was made the best mayhaw jelly and dressing around.

Her greatest love of all was family, and man did she love her family. All of them but more especially her grand-daughter Anna Marie. Who she had a special love for and helped raise. Then many years later Anna's own babies, JWP, Robin and Brianna.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Therman Carlock, Sherman Carlock, Sr., Vernon "Sonny" Carlock, and Winston Carlock. Her husband Winfred Howard. Sons Dale Lowery and Kenneth Lowery and wife Robin Anna's parents. Also her loving dog Lucy Belle.

Those left to cherish her beautiful memories are her grand-daughter Anna Marie (Lowery) Watts and husband Joe. Great Grand-daughter Robin and Brianna Watts. Some special sister-in-laws. Numerous nieces and nephews.

As per her wishes there will not be any services. Jewel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
