Linda was born on Sunday, October 24, 1943, in Champaign, Illinois , to Juanita Elizabeth Luther and Elzie Sexton. Her family lived in Illinois the whole time Linda was growing up before moving over to Louisiana, where she spent all of her adult life. While the children were growing up, she made her life as a homemaker. Linda was employed with United Van Lines in Orange, Texas where she enjoyed her job as a packer. Linda always had many humorous stories to tell from her job that she thoroughly enjoyed. For 48 years, Linda was married to her husband, Levi Jean Heard, and together they raised a big, beautiful family.

Linda was a proud Christian woman of the Pentecostal faith, who made sure to preach to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and to make sure they knew the Lord. All the kids at church knew Ms. Linda was always carrying a pocket full of peppermints for them to share. She was a very organized woman who was always on time and usually always early no matter what the occasion. Linda could often be found standing out by the road, beside her mail box with purse in hand, waiting on you if you told her she was going somewhere. As Linda aged, things usually went her way or no way but she was still a very tender hearted lady. She was very straight forward and didn't mind being opinionated. She loved to laugh and makes people laugh. When she had time, Linda loved to read, write poetry and artex paint. Linda has a fascination and love for eagles. She often wrote poetry in relation to the beautiful, free eagles. Although it wasn't always her favorite thing to do but more less Mr. Heard's project, they always had cattle and well as about a three acre garden full of corn to farm each year which made great additions to all the delicious, homemade meals she loved to prepared for her family. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Linda was always happy with them and help them to create their own imagination. She was a mother, sister, "grandma Bubba", "GiGi", grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who will loved, and missed, by all who knew her.
