Linda Kay Perry (Mendez), age 72, of Buna, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019. A memorial gathering will be held at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM with Father Sinclair officiating services at 11:00. Interment will immediately follow services at Antioch Cemetery in Buna, Texas.
Linda was born November 9, 1946, in Topeka, Kansas to parents, Katherine (McCoy) Mendez and Frank Corea Mendez. She was a resident of Buna, Texas. Linda was a very hard worker and was very proud of her work ethic. She retired from DuPont in Orange, Texas after 25 years of working as a secretary in a research lab building for 10 years. She was also a secretary for law offices in Little Rock, Arkansas for a while. Linda met the love of her life when he came to know Charles Perry. The couple was married for 33 blissful years. The two loved to travel and often made trips to Kansas, Virginia and Tennessee. When she was able, Linda loved to go shopping for clothes, Jewelry, shoes and anything else she thought she might want. She also enjoyed playing bridge, watching tennis on television as well as watching football on television. Some of her favorite teams to watch were the Cowboys, the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Kansas Jayhawks. Linda was of the Catholic faith and had a very passionate faith in God.
Linda was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Linda is preceded in death by her father, Frank Corea Mendez.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Charles Perry; daughter, Marsha Ann Twiner and husband Kevin, Kyle Perry and wife Kelly and Glen Perry and wife Wendy; mother, Katherine (Lorea); sisters, Gloria Ferguson, Monica Pugh and Anita Lorea; grandchildren, Karl Cooley, Mark Michael, Jeremiah Michael, James Lee Wilcox, Kylee Perry, Shelby Lee, Kayla Lee, Emmerson Perry, DeSaRae Cutrer, Ashley Carlstrom, David Carlstrom, Noah Carlstrom and Irelynn Carlstrom, as well as great grandchild, Liam Hebert.
