Lucedilla Tayo-Jamenez Stanley

January 3, 1954 ~ October 9, 2017 (age 63) 63 Years Old

Lucedilla Tayo-Jimenez Stanley, age 63 of Orange, Texas, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, October 9, 2017. A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00-5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Lucedilla was born on January 3, 1954 in Bacolod, Philippines to Eleanor Jimenez. She had been a longtime resident of the Philippines, where she lived all of her childhood and the earlier part of her adult years, before moving to the United States in 1979 and later becoming a citizen of the United States of America in 2009. Lucedilla was of the Catholic Religion and believed strongly in the word of God. When her health allowed, she would enjoy attending Mass at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Mauriceville, Texas. Lucedilla made her life as a homemaker and took care of all the animals, bills and household duties while her husband, Kenneth would be gone for 30-45 days at a time working on ships offshore. When she would have some spare time and wanted to get out of the house, the donut palace in Mauriceville was always glad to have her. Everyone that passed through the places of business always knew her as a very kind, hard working little woman. Lucedilla was always known to be very stubborn, strong, hard headed and the "loud, Crazy Asian". She was also known as a very kind hearted, loving woman but never minded giving you her opinion. She always knew whether you needed a hug or a "talking to" and would do just that. Lucedilla's culture and family morals were very strict and raised to be honest no matter what which is exactly how she raised her own family. Her family often referred to her as, "Sophia", from the Golden Girls. She also thoroughly loved to dance, sing, cook and go fishing every chance she got. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 28 years, Kenneth Stanley; children; Leslie Ann Carmody of Mauriceville, Texas, Megan Natasha Stanley of Indianapolis, Indiana, Aliza Ashley Greenwell of Charleston, South Carolina and Stanley Christopher Carmody of Byhalia, Mississippi; mother, Eleanor Jamenez of Lipa City, Philippines; grandchildren, Alexander Blake Carmody, Laurell Angelina Wilcox and Ryleigh Jaide Wilcox. Lucedilla also had 6 brothers and 1 sister.
