Margaret Alice (Carter) Ristau, 67, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas, in Beaumont, Texas. Arrangements were made under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.
On Thursday, August 25, 1949, Margaret was born in Orange, Texas, to parents Correne Whitsitt and Olen Glen Carter, and remained a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated from Lutcher Stark High, class of 1967. Margaret was a loving wife to her husband, Norman Ristau, and took great pride in herself as a home maker and house wife. Margaret had one son, Travis, who was her pride and joy. When she was able, Margaret enjoyed getting away and going to the casino. She was a woman who loved people and never met a stranger. Margaret always had a smile on her face and lived her life with a true care-free attitude. She was an animal lover, especially cats, and she always joked that she loved taking care of them so much that she would have fed them first. Margaret was a loving woman who will be missed by all who knew her.
Preceding Margaret in death are her husband, Norman Ristau; son, Travis Rushing; mother, Correne Whitsitt; father, Olen Glen Carter; and brother, Glenn Carter.
Those who will continue to cherish her memory are her sisters, Laura Pachuca and Donna Bagwell of Orange, Texas.
