Mason Cole Fitzgerald, age 7, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017. Services, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at First Baptist Church, in Orangefield, Texas, with Brother Bernard Woods officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Wilkinson Cemetery, in Orange, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas.

Mason was born on July 16, 2010, in Houston, Texas. He had been a lifelong resident of Orange, Texas and attended First Grade at Little Cypress Elementary School. Mason was a very loving, smart child with a smile that could brighten anyone's day. He always enjoyed playing with all of his friends at school and his cousins at home. Mason liked to watch paw patrol and octonauts on TV as well as ride the side by side or go cart but his favorite thing to do was play with his cousins, Reagan, Peyton, Cory, Zoe and Gabe. Church was always a big deal for Mason, as he loved attending and learning about God and his word. In the warmer months, Mason often enjoyed swimming with others in the pool while enjoying all the good times with cousin and friends that summer break had to offer. If you were to ever ask Mason what he wanted to eat, 9 times out of 10 it was going to be waffles or a cheeseburger, as those were his two favorite, "meals". Mason's kindness was always reflected by how he would treat others and especially his siblings. He especially always wanted to take care of his younger sister, two year old, McKayla. Mason was a son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend and will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Mason is preceded in death by his Great Grandfather, A.B. Hughes; Great Grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. James Fitzgerald; Aunt and Uncle, Bobby and Jo Weatherford.

Mason is survived by his parents, Michele Burch Fitzgerald and Dewayne Vercy Fitzgerald of Orange, TX.; Little brother, Caden; Sisters, Alex and McKayla; Grandparents, Arnold and Dorothy Burch; Grandmother, Liz Fitzgerald; Great Grandmother, Linda Hughes, as well as a host of aunt, uncles and cousins.
