Mervin Henry Ozan, Sr., age 91, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January, 2, 2018. Funeral services for Mervin, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018, at New Anointing Church in Orange, Texas, at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Ronnie Hennigan officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service on Friday, January 5, 2018, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at New Anointing Church.

 

On Monday, July 28, 1926, Mervin was born in Call, Texas, to mother, Edith (Perkins) and father, Henry Lewis Ozan. Mervin has been married to Sarah Jackson Ozan for 32 years. Their children, Mervin Henry, JR., Bonnie Ravencraft and Sharon Bilbo, brought much joy and happiness to their lives.

 Mervin was always known to be a “cut –up” a funny and fun loving guy.

He was very involved in his church and loved teaching others about the word of God.  His love for God, and his knowledge of the Bible was an important part of his life.

 He loved doing yard work and tinkering in his garage; which, he turned into his own personal” man cave”. Sitting idly around was never on his to do list.

 In his younger years, he enjoyed being at their camp, fishing, and traveling.  He had been retired for 26 years from Ameripol Synpol.

Preceding Mervin in death are his parents, Edith (Perkins) and Henry Lewis Ozan; two brothers and one sister.

Those who will cherish Mervin’s memory most are his wife, Sarah (Jackson) Ozan, of Orange, Texas; son, Mervin Henry Ozan, JR. and wife Scottie of Silsbee, Texas; daughters, Bonnie Ravencraft and husband Stanley of Orange, Texas and Sharon Bilbo of Orange, Texas.;  grandchildren, Amber Hembree, Theresa McLellan and husband Marcus; and Kelli Bilbo great-grandson, Alexander Hembree , sister, Evelyn Weaver of Kirbyville, Texas and Virginia Hale and husband John of Buna, Texas.; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Ozan of Kirbyville, Texas.
