Mildred Ann (Lambright) Fontenot, 73, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at Harbor Hospice, in Beaumont, Texas.  Funeral services, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at North Orange Pentecostal Church, in Orange, Texas; Rev. Larry Talent of Longville Pentecostal Church, in Longville, Louisiana, officiating.  Rite of Committal and Interment will immediately follow funeral services on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Smith Cemetery, in Starks, Louisiana.  Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to funeral services from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at North Orange Pentecostal Church.

 

On Monday, April 10, 1944, Mildred was born in Oakdale, Louisiana, to parents Joe Lambright and Lucille (Block) Lambright.  In 1972, Mildred moved from Vinton, Louisiana, to Orange, Texas, with her husband, Bernard “Ben” Fontenot, Sr., and together raised their three children.  Mildred worked primarily as a homemaker, and also as a private healthcare sitter.  She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She was a loving and caring woman, who will be missed by all who knew her.

 

Preceding Mildred in death is her loving husband, Ben Fontenot, Sr.; parents, Joe and Lucille Lambright; and great-granddaughter, Ally Psencik.

 

Those who will cherish Mildred’s memory most are her daughters, Ludy Johnson and spouse, Ricky Trahan, of Orange, Texas, and Tammie Callahan and her husband, Patrick, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; son, Bernard Tonis “Tony” Fontenot, Jr., of Vinton, Louisiana; brother, Joe Leonard Lambright; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, with 2 on the way; and numerous members of extended family.

 

Honoring Mildred as pallbearers are Bart Psencik, Ricky Trahan, Patrick Callahan, Caleb Callahan, Jeremy Delano, and Doug Foster; honorary pallbearer is Aiden Delano.
