On Saturday, August 3, 1957, in Orange, Texas, Rickey was born to Janet Crew Fontenot and James Arlen Fontenot.  Rickey was of the catholic faith and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  He graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in 1976 and went on to become a carpenter and was a proud member of the carpentry union.  He later became a mechanic and supervisor, working a combined 34 years with Dupont, and later Invista.  Rickey was a man who dearly loved his family and always encouraged his children to be the very best that they could be.  He loved the outdoors; sitting on the front porch to watch hummingbirds or fireflies, at the beach collecting seashells and listening to waves crash, or riding his motorcycle.  Rickey was a very knowledgeable man who was a whiz at music trivia and also enjoyed watching the history channel.

Preceding Rickey in death is his father, James Arlen Fontenot.
