Ronald Eppler Obituary

Ronald “Ronnie” Frederick Eppler, age 72, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018. A memorial service will be held at the building of the Mauriceville Church, 14143 Highway 62 N in Orange, Texas on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM with visitation prior to services, at 1:00 PM. Brothers Jim McDonald, Christopher Eppler and Tim Stevens, will be officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.

Ron was born on Monday, June 3, 1946, in Racine, Wisconsin to parents, Eleanor (Beauchamp) and Frederick Eppler. Though he was known as “Ron” throughout his adult life, he was affectionately called “Ronnie” by his family when he was growing up (and still to this day). He had been a long time resident of Jasper, Texas before moving all over the south preaching the word of God. Ron and his family lived in Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, and Arkansas before settling back in Orange, TX with his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Molly. Ron was baptized into Christ in 1986 after much study with brother Jim McDonald. He began preaching full time in 1992.Ron worked as an evangelist for over 25 years with churches in Comanche, TX; Stillwater, OK; Tuckerman, AR; Pine Bluff, AR; Danville, FL; and McAlester, OK. Ron was, first and foremost, a very faithful Christian that worked diligently visiting, helping the needy, and sharing things he built or grew in his garden. He enjoyed to garden and was known for his very green thumb and enormous gardens. Ron also enjoyed building things. He worked for Jim Walter Homes helping construct many beautiful homes throughout east and southeast Texas. He especially handcrafted a bed and changing table that his beloved grandchildren have all used. He was also proud to be a master electrician who knew his trade well. Ron was drafted into the Army and served with the engineers constructing items and transporting heavy equipment during the war in Vietnam. His family was everything to him and he truly cherished all of the love and memories he shared with them throughout the years. Ron was a son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Eleanor Eppler; son, Freddie Eppler; brother, Gerald “Jerry” Eppler and sister, Betty “Tootsie” Welcome.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Diane Eppler; sons, Christopher Eppler and wife Molly of Mauriceville, Texas, and Matthew Eppler of Angleton, Texas; stepmother Judy Jacobs and husband George of Wisconsin; brothers, Bob Eppler and wife Carol of Racine, Wisconsin, Richard “Dick” Eppler and wife Colette of Georgia, and Rodger Eppler of Wisconsin; sisters, Judy Hughes and husband Jim of Wisconsin, Carol Nielson and husband Dave of Wisconsin, and Sharrie Ulcek of Wisconsin; and grandchildren: Graham Eppler, Cort Eppler and Phoebe Eppler.

The family would like to extend special thankfulness to Vidor Health and Rehab. The employees there patiently helped him with great love and care during his final months. Thank you.

As our father Abraham, “he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.” (Hebrews 11:10)
