Roxie M. Tager, age 78 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Beaumont, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at North Orange Pentecostal Church with Pastor Chris Bankard officiating. Interment will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Dorman Funeral Home.

Roxie was born on April 6, 1939 in Jamestown, Texas to Edward Folsom and Liza Jane Travis Folsom, where she was the youngest of nine children. Roxie loved her brothers and sisters very much. Over the years, they enjoyed taking trips and would attend family reunions at the "old church" in Jamestown. It was tradition for them to walk down to the creek, which always ended up with someone getting pushed in. She was always there whenever she saw the need from working on Sheriff's campaigns or being by their side during good or bad times.

Roxie married the love of her life, Louis Tager, Sr and together they were married for 60 years. The memory of their relationship will always bring a smile to everyone’s faces. They would lovingly argue over everything from making a pot of coffee to Daddy just wanting to go home. He loved her more than anything in the world, so usually she got her way. They were best friends and spent hours drinking coffee and playing games in the middle of the night.  In the end Daddy would not let Momma out of his sight and she did not leave Daddy's side. When he passed she never recovered but all is well, now that they are reunited.

Roxie worked for many years at Sav-Mor Drugs in the East Town Shopping Center and later on she became a Store Manager at Eckerd’s Drug Store in Orange and in the Houston Area before retiring. Before losing her sight, she enjoyed painting and photography classes. When her grandchildren were younger she would encourage them to be creative by setting them up right next to her with a canvas and they would paint to create their own masterpiece. Her love for creating new things was also passed down to them. Roxie was so proud of her grandchildren, always beaming with love for them whether she was cheering them on at a football game, attending a dance recital or listening to their sermon. She was a wonderful and loving Mother and TiTi to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending quality time with them and played right along with their pranks and jokes like when Glen Thomas would get her to try sour candies. Roxie would love to play card games and board games with her husband and friends. If she wasn't working on puzzles with her family, she was playing an intense game of Skipbo or Yahtzee. Cooking elaborate holiday meals was her specialty and she took great pride in passing on family recipes to her family. Roxie was a strong willed and independent woman; she did not let her eyesight hold her back. Roxie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Louis Tager; her parents, Edward and Liza Folsom; grandson, Glen Thomas Brown, Jr.; brothers, O.A. “Slim” Folsom, Clarence Alford Folsom, Burtis Nathan Folsom, and William Lamar Folsom; sisters, Lula Mae Lowe, Martha Grace Folsom, Effie Louise Teal, and Frances Jean Pickett.

Roxie is survived by her sons, Louis Tager, Jr., of Orange, and Michael Tager and wife Sherry of Hempstead; daughters, Rosa Anding and husband Randy of Orange, and Angela Trevino and husband Wesley of Orange; grandchildren, Jamison Anding and wife Tierany, Matthew Brown and wife Kelle, Jacob Trevino and wife Ivey, Michael Tager, Jr. and wife Brandy, Hope Graffagnino and husband Grant, Sierra Theriot and husband Michael, Joseph Tager, and Joshua Anding; great-grandchildren, Tristen Anding, Madison Tager, Austin Tager, Brayden Felps, Nolan Graffagnino, Braxton Kiamar, Brenten Brown, Tristen Tucker, Juliet Brown, Jayden Theriot, Ryder Theriot, Remy Theriot, and one to arrive in March.
