Willard Gene Brinson

Willard Gene Brinson, age 78 of Deweyville, Texas, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at his home. Services to honor Willard's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Fortenberry officiating. Interment will follow at King Cemetery in Hartburg. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Dorman Funeral Home.

Willard was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi and was a leap year baby that celebrated his birthday on March 1, 1940. He was one of nine children born to Rosa Farrell Kelly Brinson and Robert McLaren Brinson Willard joined the United States Air Force and enjoyed a long fulfilling career in communications  until his retirement in 1978. After his retirement he became a co-owner of Mutual Telecommunications Services with two of his dear friends Jerry Cozad and Jack Cozad. Willard's career allowed him and his wife Linda to travel extensively throughout the world. Willard was an avid golfer and loved playing baseball.

He is preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings; Robert Brinson, Jr., Charles Brinson, Gary Brinson, Calvin Brinson, Doris Russell, Elizabeth Wagner, June Shepherd and toddler Dorothy Brinson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Linda Robbins Brinson, three sons; Willard Eugene Brinson and his wife Renee of Springtown, TX, Darryl Kelly Brinson and his wife Gretta of Houston, TX and Michael Wayne Brinson and Angie Anderson of Sulphur, LA and one daughter, Donna Katherine Witt and her husband Michael of Rosamond, CA. Six grandchildren; Candice Brinson, Erin Leek, Sean Brinson, Eric Brinson, Heather Brinson and Jerremy Brinson. Five great grandchildren; Aubrey Haynes, Nicholas Haynes, Kimber Moss, Jet Brinson and Fred Brinson. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Gene Brinson, Darryl Brinson, Michael Brinson, Jerremy Brinson, Eric Brinson and Michael Witt. Honorary pallbearer will be Sean Brinson.
