Alan Richard Kirkwood

Alan Richard Kirkwood, age 53, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Arrangements were made under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018, with visitation from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, with Pastor Turner officiating, at Cove Baptist Church in Orange, Texas.

Alan was born on Sunday, May 30, 1965, in Port Galgow, Scotland to parents, Margaret (Boyland) and Alexander Kirkwood. He had been a long time resident of Orange, Texas before moving from Scotland. He was a Christian man with a heart of gold. Alan found the love of his life when he met Tammy Kirkwood. They enjoyed many wonderful years together. He was a very caring and loving man who loved God, his family and friends. Family was everything to Alan. He loved to play the guitar, any and all church activities, any activities with the youth group, fishing when he had the chance and spending time with his wife and grandchildren. He enjoyed life to the very fullest and never let a single day be wasted by not making the very best of it. Alan was a husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many wonderful people. He will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Alan is preceded in death by his brother, David Kirkwood.

Alan is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Kirkwood; children, Angela Lynn McCauley, Christy Lynn Burton; parents, Alexander Kirkwood, Margaret Kirkwood, step-mother, Margo Kirkwood; brother, Andrew Scott Kirkwood as well as a host of nieces, nephew and grandchildren.
