Alton Pursley

Alton Carl Pursley, age 61, of Orange, Texas, left this world to spend eternity with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 12, 2020. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas.  

Alton was born in Jacinto City, Texas on Wednesday, October 1, 1958, to parents, Marion (Vest) and Edgar Charles Pursley. He came to know the love of his life when he met Susan (Stephens). The couple married in November of 1981 and made their home in Orange, Texas. In the years following, the couple had two wonderful children, Blake and Katlynn. The four of them truly enjoyed spending time together as a family, no matter what it was that they were doing or where they went. Alton was a true family man that always went above and beyond for them to ensure they had everything that they needed and were well taken care of. He continued to do the exact same once he became a Pappy to his granddaughter, Mia Rose. She was the apple of his eye and he was, undoubtedly, wrapped around her little finger. Alton also thoroughly enjoyed going hunting and fishing, any chance that life allowed.       

Alton was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother and wonderful friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.   

Alton is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Susan Pursley; children, Blake Pursley, as well as, Katlynn Pursley King and husband, Mathew; brothers, Charles Pursley and wife, Kitty, as well as, Bartley Pursley and wife Leslie; sister, Kathy Duraso and husband, Bear; mother, Marion Vest Pursley, and his precious granddaughter, Mia Rose King. 

Alton is preceded in death by his father, Edgar Charles Pursley.
