Barbara LaComb

Barbara Ann LaComb, age 85 of Deweyville, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 in Port Arthur, Texas. Services to honor Barbara will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Damon Bickham and Rev. Brad Bickham officiating. Interment will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Dorman Funeral Home.

Barbara was born in Bossier City, Louisiana on January 16, 1934 to Loraine McDonald Hooker and Waynon Hooker. She had been a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Deweyville. Barbara enjoyed playing softball in her younger years. She also had a talent for crocheting and making wreaths and floral arrangements for friends and family. Barbara had an outgoing personality and a wonderful laugh that will be greatly missed. She was all about her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Waynon and Loraine Hooker and three brothers; Francis "Buddy" Hooker, Donald Hooker and Mack Hooker.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters; Mary Piletere of Groves, TX, Joyce Berry and her husband John of Deweyville, TX and Barbara Spears of Mauriceville, TX. Seven grandchildren; Teresa Istre, Chad Piletere, David Sonnier, Shelby Foster, Meredith Drake, Melissa Lisle and Heather Garrard. Twenty three great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Blake Drake, Houston Sonnier, Ransom Garrard, Tyler Tubbs, Zayne Trahan, Craig Lisle and Chance Foster.
