Bernice Janet Brockman, age 84, of Orange, Texas, departed this Earth to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. Services to honor Bernice’s life will be held at Pinehurst United Pentecostal Church. Dorman Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care and arrangements.
Bernice was born on Sunday, March 28, 1938 to parents Nanna and Charles F. Bierly in Galena, Indiana. At the age of 16, love struck and she married Donald L Brockman. The marriage was the magic of dreams and the couple was blissfully married for 65 years. God, family and friends were the core of Bernice’s life. Whether it was keeping a tidy house, yard work, collecting refrigerator magnets or playing Bunco; whatever it was that this active lady tackled, it was with a glow of love and compassion that others learned from. When one was sick, in trouble or life was overwhelming the Brockman’s are the type of prayer warriors everyone could turn to. Their faith truly touched many lives and was strengthened by this incredible husband and wife team. Bernice’s cooking was legendary; often the church would ask Mrs. Brockman to be sure to bring her fried chicken, barbeque, coleslaw and mac-n-cheese to church functions. It often became a competitive challenge as to who was going to get to enjoy her tasty dishes, (keep away). She had a long life, filled with many blessings and joy. She will be deeply missed by her family and all that knew her.
Preceding Bernice in death is her parents Nanna and Charles F. Bierly and brother Bernard Bierly.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband Donald L. Brockman, daughter Donita Gould and husband George, nephew Shawn Bierly, grandchildren; Nathan and his wife Eydie, Brittany and her husband Steve and Adam, great great-grandchildren; Kaden, Joe, Avah, Easton, Brooklin and Owen as well as her church family and many wonderful friends.
