Beverly Spell

Beverly Kegley Spell, age 82 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Services to honor Beverly’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Linebarger and Brother Ray Walker officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at Liberty Cemetery in Elton, Louisiana. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 9, 2020.

Beverly was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on September 26, 1937 to Hazel Beard Kegley and Wilson Kegley. She had been a resident of Orange, Texas since 1954. Beverly along with her sister owned Bea’s & Bev’s Boutique, and planned many weddings across the area.  She served faithfully in her church, leading the WMA and teaching Sunday School. Beverly also enjoyed doing ceramics and was a member of the Klay & Kiln Club of Orange, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Spell, Sr., parents Wilson and Hazel Kegley, son Joel J. Spell and daughter Jennifer McCormack.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son; Mark W. Spell and Nayumi of Chitose, Japan, daughters, Joanetta Deshotel and her husband Louis of Groves, TX, Christine Bailey and her husband Branden of Orangefield, TX, sister Florence Johnson of Vidor, TX, brother Wilton Kegley of LeBleu Settlement, LA, and sister Lisa Oswald and her husband John of Granite City, IL, four grandchildren; Jonathan Hutson of Jacksonville, FL, Justin Hutson of Nederland, TX, Brande Spell of Chickasha, OK and Rebecka Thoms and her husband Bobby of Marysville, WA and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Branden Bailey, Tyler Bailey, Justin Hutson, Darrell Johnson, Mike Kegley and Mark Simmons.
