Billy Jarel McMahon, age 74, of Orange, Texas, passed from this life on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Funeral services, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held at, 12:00 PM on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Deweyville United Pentecostal Church in Deweyville, Texas, with Brother Michael Orange and Brother Marshall Stephenson officiating services. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow at, Deweyville Cemetery in Deweyville, Texas.
Billy was born in Center, Texas on Tuesday, February 19, 1946, to parents, Olen Eugene McMahon and Sarah Jo (Wilburn) Palmer. He was a resident of Orange since 1989 where he was known and loved by many. He was a longtime member of Deweyville United Pentecostal Church, where he thoroughly enjoyed attending church services and revivals, every chance that life allowed him. He enjoyed fishing every now and then, but spending quality time with his family was his very favorite thing to do in life. He loved his family with every ounce of his being, as the love was always reciprocated. He made his career as a welder and worked for, Zachary, from which he later retired. Billy also served his country in the United States Army and was very proud and honored to do so.
Billy was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, son-in-law, uncle and friend, who will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him.
Billy is preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Jo Palmer and step father, Vernon Palmer; father, Olen McMahon and step mother, Murlene McMahon; mothers of his children, Judy English, as well as, Marjorie Addison; sister, Norma Rae Guidry; son-in-law, Mike Welsh; aunts, Vernon Bohnon, Vaudin Snyder, as well as, Ada Nickles.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jenise Welsh, Janice Deuitt and husband Dewayne; Ramona Ryan and husband Rick; brothers, James McMahon, as well as, Eugene McMahon and wife Pat; sisters, Evelyn Foster and husband Kevin, Ann Steptoe and husband Alton; grandchildren, Devon McMahon and wife Jenny, Justin Welsh, Sabrina Welsh Choto and husband Kevin, Eric Dueitt, Jerry Dueitt, Jr., Colby Dueitt and Julie McMahon; great grandchildren, Lucas Welsh, Jenise Kristiana Choto, Layliana McMahon, Whitley Dueitt, Addisyn Dueitt, Brooklynn Dueitt and Bryson Dueitt; A host of nieces and nephews.
