Brenda Sue (Atkeson) Matlock

Brenda Sue Matlock, age 50, of Orange, Texas, passed from this life on Sunday, January 17, 2021. Services to honor Brenda’s life will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas, with Brother Michael Meranda officiating services. Family and friends will gather for visitation on Thursday, January 28, 2021, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will follow services at, Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange, Texas. Services are entrusted to Dorman Funeral Home.

Brenda was born in Vinton, Louisiana on Wednesday, April 29, 1970 to Shirley Ann (Duhon) and Jesse Atkeson, Sr. She was a lifelong resident of Orange, Texas where she was known and loved by many. Brenda came to know the love of her life at the age of 17, when she met Timothy Matlock. The couple spent 33 years together but made a lifetime of memories. They enjoyed fishing together, going to the beach to relax or any other activity, so long as they were together. Brenda loved God and her family with an unwavering, unconditional love. She was always so full of life and just a happy person.

Brenda will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Jesse Atkeson, Sr. and brother-in-law, Randy Matlock.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her loving husband of 33 years, Tim Matlock; brothers, Joe Atkeson and wife Nancy, as well as, Jesse Atkeson, Jr. and wife Kathy; sisters, Mary Atkeson Reeves and Samantha Atkeson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, LeRoy and Zena Matlock; brother-in-law, Alton Matlock; sisters-in-laws, Kathy, Ariann, Lea, Charlsie and Jezlyn; A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
