Carol Lorraine Henry

Carol Lorraine Henry, age 89, of Orange, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on, Wednesday, July 7, 2021. Carol is a Louisiana native, where she lived with her parents and four siblings who preceded her in death. Carol was married to her husband of 73 years, Farland Henry, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2015. Her children, Cynthia, Michael and Robert Henry, son-in-law Barry Pruitt, daughters-in-law Alicia and Sherry Henry, granddaughter Kimberly Burton, and great grandson Matthew Hall all preceded Carol in death. Carol is survived by her children, Farland Henry, Jr., Timothy Henry and wife Candace, Deborah Dugas and husband Jeffery, daughter-in-law Cathy Henry, eighteen grandchildren, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In the last six years of Carol’s life, many family members took care of her after the passing of her husband, Farland. Carol’s granddaughter Christi cared for her in her last months. The family is appreciative of Christi giving her time and love, to take care of her grandmother in her final moments. Carol lived a long and blessed life surrounded by many friends and family who loved her dearly. Carol loved to dance and go wherever Creole Cookin’ was playing, as she loved the music they played. Everyone who knew Carol loved her and called her, “Maw Maw”, no matter how old they were.

There will be a Memorial Service given by close family friend, Jeffery Collins, for Carol at the American Legion Post 49, located at, 108 Green Ave, in Orange, Texas, on August 14, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., to celebrate her life. Jeff is family to Carol and to those who knew him. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Jeff for taking the time to help us celebrate Maw Maw’s life.
