Charlotte Ann McShan

Charlotte Ann McShan, age 56, of Orange, Texas, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. Funeral services, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held at, 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Deweyville, Texas, with brother Damon Bickham officiating services. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 PM until service time. Interment will follow at, Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange, Texas.

Charlotte was born in Orange, Texas on Sunday, April 12, 1964, to parents, Albert Rogers Benson, Sr. and Dorris Marie (Perry). Charlotte was a lifelong resident of Orange where she was known and loved by many. She came to know the love of her life when she met, Todd McShan. The couple married on, February 3, 1990 and shared 30 years of blissful marriage, but made a lifetime of memories. The little family of two became a completed family of three once they welcomed their son, and pride and joy, Jacob, into the world. She was a longtime employee of LCM ISD where she started as a school bus driver and eventually took on the position of, Assistant Director of the Nutrition Department, where she excelled at her job. She absolutely adored all of her students, as the love was always reciprocated. Charlotte was a Christian woman and a proud member of First Baptist Church Deweyville, where she thoroughly enjoyed teaching a Sunday School class and instilling the word of the Lord into the hearts of others. Prior to that, she also taught Sunday School at, Hartburg Baptist Church, in Deweyville. She loved to paint whenever she had the time, as it was one of her wonderful talents. Traveling to different vacation destinations and seeing the world was her absolute favorite thing to do in life. Her family was her entire world and her son, Jacob, was the apple of her eye.

Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, aunt and wonderful friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Albert Benson, Sr.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 30 years, Todd McShan; son, Jacob McShan; brother, Albert “Buddy” Rogers Benson, Jr. and wife Kimm; sister, Tammy Amborse and husband David; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Marilyn McShan; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Patricia and Phillip Wagstaff; aunt, Bety Baham; nieces, China Burks and Ashley Benson, as well as, nephew, Slade Benson.
