Cheryl Anne (Sanders) Earnest, age 69, of Orange, Texas, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, February 15, 2021. Graveside services and Interment will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at King Cemetery in Hartburg, Texas, with Pastor Randy Branch and Rev. David Broussard officiating services. Services are under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.
Cheryl was born in Orange, Texas on December 14, 1951 to Thomas Jefferson Sanders, Jr. and Edna (Stansbury). She was a graduate of Orange-Stark High School and a lifetime resident of Orange, Texas where she was known and loved by many friends and most of all, by her family. She loved the Lord with all of her being and was a proud member of, Wesley United Methodist Church in Orange. Attending church and church functions made her happy and kept her at peace. When she was younger, she absolutely loved to go out dancing every chance that life allowed. You could often find Cheryl at Walmart, as she took her daily trip there to buy a small candle and ride the scooter around the store while visiting with everyone that she knew. It brought her great joy to be able to visit with everyone, so the tradition continued on as long as her health allowed. She was deemed a true survivor after battling hurricane Harvey in 2017. As the waters continued to rise, rescue boats came in to help; that is where she seized her opportunity and boarded a bass boat out of there without any fear.
Cheryl was a wonderful and loving sister, daughter, aunt and friend who will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her loving husband of 16 years, Billy Earnest; parents, Thomas and Edna Sanders, as well as, brother, Ken Sanders
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving sisters, Terri Frey and husband Mark, as well as, Janice Allen and husband Jerry; nieces, Mallorie Henning and husband Zack, Megan Garcia and husband David, Madalyn Frey, as well as, Jennifer Ellestad and husband Jason; nephews, Jeremy Allen and Carmen, as well as, Drayton Sanders and wife Kaytee and a host of family and friends.
