Clara Hanson Obituary

Clara Barbara Hanson, 76, of Orange, Texas, went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at her residence, surrounded by her family. Funeral Services, under the direction of, Dorman Funeral Home, will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Second Baptist Church in Bridge City, Texas. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 PM until service time. Interment will follow services at, Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange, Texas.

Born November 8, 1944 in Beaumont, Texas, she was the daughter of Freeman & Lucille Giroir. Barbara was a 1963 graduate of French High School where she met the love of her life, Jimmie Hanson. Barbara and Jimmie moved to Bridge City in 1968 where they raised their family. Barbara worked along-side her husband at Western Auto in Bridge City. She went on to become a Floral Designer at Wayside Florist and Four Seasons before once again working along her husband at their antique store. Barbara retired as a Design Assistant from Wallpaper Etc. in Beaumont in 2016. Barbara loved the Lord and served faithfully at Fellowship Baptist Church of Bridge City. She never missed an opportunity to share a word of encouragement with those around her. In the mornings she faithfully read God’s word and prayed for those she loved, especially her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Freeman & Lucille Giroir; sister, Alice Galloway; brothers in law, Jerry Galloway and Kendel Gatch; sister in law, Jane Hanson, granddaughter Brooke Hartman; and nephew, Drew Galloway.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of fifty seven years, Jimmie D, Hanson, of Orange, TX; children, Shawn Hanson and wife Jeannine of Bridge City, Dawn Hartman and Husband Jeff of Bridge City, and Brandon Hanson and wife Nikki of Mauriceville; grandchildren, Sydney Hanson, Bryce Hartman, Ashtin Hartman, Cadelyn Hartman, Trentin Hartman, Luke Hanson and wife Julie, Nicholas Hanson; sister, Sharron Gatch of Silsbee TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bryce Hartman, Luke Hanson, Trentin Hartman, Nicholas Hanson, Neil Hanson, and Logan Hightower. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Hartman, Lindsey Hanson, Joey Hargrave, John Banken, and Roger O’Quinn.

Barbara’s family would like to thank her loving caregiver, Holly and Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
