Cynthia Malone Tuter

The following obituary was lovingly written by Cynthia's family:

Cynthia Malone Tuter, "Aunt Simp", drifted peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on February 23, 2023 at the age of 90. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Ida Wilson Cemetery, with Bro. Jeff Bell officiating. 

Due to "The Great Depression", the first few years of her life were spent being cared for by the Nuns at the Catholic Orphanage in Galveston, Texas. When she was old enough to attend school, she was brought home to Orange, Texas by her loving mother Evelyn "Nan" Hill, where she was reunited with her older sister and four older brothers.

She followed in her mother's footsteps as a loving, caring person. She loved cooking and always declared, "if you walk away hungry, it's your own fault." She had a great sense of humor to which the nurses and aides at Southeast Texas Hospice will attest!

Cynthia was preceded in her journey home by her husband and father of her children, Vernon Malone, her daughter, Ruth Irons, her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Jimmie Dugas, her son-in-law, Stan Armstrong, her second husband, R.G. Tuter, her parents, Frank Johnson Hill and Evelyn "Nan" Frillou Hill, her sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Ivy Sonnier, and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Dorothy Hill, James "Buster" and Norma Hill, Charles Hill, and Raymond "Butch" Hill.

Those who remain to tell her stories are her daughters, Molly Malone and Trudy Malone, her son and daughter-in-law Huey and Jill Malone, her son-in-law Mike Irons, dear family friend and bonus daughter, Cynthia Bates, her grandchildren , April and Alvin Booker, Colin and Charlotte Irons, Kelley and Anthony DiGiacomo, Kasey and Jessica Irons, and Katy Dempsey, her extended family, John and Kellie Tuter and their children, and Chad Tuter and family, her great grandchildren, Tyler Ridgaway, Amber and Keegan Shaver, Sterling Burch, Sawyer Irons, and Ezra DiGiacomo, and her great great grandchild, Eva Carpenter.

We would like to extend a very grateful, heartfelt thank you to Dr. Amsden and the staff of Southeast Texas Hospice.
