Darrell McGalin

Darrell Thomas McGalin, age 58, of Orange, Texas, passed away on, June 27, 2020, in Beaumont, Texas. Funeral services, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home,will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas, with Pastor Robert Click officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Dorman Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow services at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, Texas.

Darrell was born in Jasper, Texas on Friday, September 8, 1961, to parents, Sarah (Amacker) and Tommie McGalin. He attended both LCM and West Orange Stark Schools and graduated from West Orange Stark High School in the class of 1980.Darrell grew up in Riverside, which was an old Navy shipyard located in Orange, Texas, that, unfortunately, no longer exists. He met the love of his life when he came to know Debbie (O’Reilly). The couple dated for a while then later married on April 9, 2011. They shared 9 blissful years of marriage but made a lifetime of memories. Darrell was a family man who valued spending quality time with his loved ones, every chance that life allowed. He had a host of friends that he also enjoyed spending time making memories with. He really liked to play pool and enjoyed playing APA pool for several years. If the Cowboys football games were on TV, you could bet that he was watching and cheering on his favorite team. Darrell could often be found at the lake, tournament fishing or just fishing for fun, with his best friends Bob, Dondi and Barry. He was an S.A.L. member of The American Legion and very proud of that. As an Electrician by trade, Darrell was always willing to help friends, family or anyone else in need of electrical fixes. He loved his puppies Bella and Milo and couldn’t wait to get back home to them after work to fix their supper.

Darrell was a loving husband,father,brother,uncle, grandfather and wonderful friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Darrell is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Debbie McGalin; children, Beau Burch, Chris Burch, Crystal Burnett, Kayla McGhen and Alaura Browder; sisters, Dora Usery, Evaline Conway and husband Jeff, as well as, Terri Click and husband Tim; 8 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.

Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Sarah McGalin.

Pallbearers honoring Darrell are, Bob Moody, Dondi Hyatt, Jeff Conway, Payton Siti, John Mills and Ed Johnston.
