Della Mae Horton, Age 74 of Deweyville, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at her home. A service to honor her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 30, 2021 at North Orange United Pentecostal Church with Brother Chris Bankard officiating. Visitation times for Monday, August 30, 2021 will be immediate family12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, extended family will be 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM and public 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, at North Orange United Pentecostal Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dorman Funeral Home.
Della was born in Morse, Louisiana on June 10, 1947 to parents, Yolanda Theresa Lavergne Fontenot and Lenis Anthony Fontenot. She had been a longtime resident of Deweyville and was faithful member of North Orange Pentecostal Church. Della enjoyed crocheting, fishing, taking pictures, reading, traveling and trips to the beach. She loved spending time with her family. Della had a giving heart and was always ready and willing to take care of others. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lenis and Yolanda Fontenot.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Shirley F. Horton of Deweyville, TX, son Mark Elmore of Orange, TX, daughter Norma Moore of Lake Charles, LA, stepchildren; Levie Horton of Vidor, TX, Ann Stanley of Vidor, TX, Marian Page of Vidor, TX and Jennifer Atwood of Vidor, TX, sisters Mary Callahan of Pearcy, AR and Luella Chaisson of Sulphur, LA, eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund at North Orange United Pentecostal Church 7144 State Hwy 87, Orange, TX 77632.
