Diana Lynn Smith

Diana Lynn Smith, age 71, of Orange, Texas, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. Funeral services, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held at, 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 PM until service time. Interment will follow at, Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Diana was born in Abbeville, Louisiana on Tuesday, November 15, 1949, to parents, Yolanda (Broussard) and Carol Bertrand. Diana was a lifelong resident of Orange where she was known and loved by many. Family was everything to Diana and her grandbabies were the light of her life. Every chance that she got to spend quality time with them, was the highlight of her day. She enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith show, Bonanza, Betty Boop, as well as, Gun Smoke.

Diana was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and wonderful friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Gale Smith, Jr. and wife Kimberly, as well as, Dona Brown and husband Carlos; grandchildren, Talya Alvarez, Jazmin Alvarez, Liliana Alvarez, Jazlyn Alvarez, Brandon Brown, Scott Roberts, Seth Abbott, Kirsty Smith, Sara Smith, Kelsey Smith, William Kirkwood, Justin Smith, Haleigh Smith, Victoria Smith and Hunter Smith; great grandchildren, Allysa Stout, Taylor Stout, Brooklyn Stout, Skyla West and Eli Gordon.

Diana is preceded in death by her parents, Carol and Yolanda Bertrand; brother, James Mitchell Bertrand, as well as, one sister.

The family would like to send a special, Thank You, to Cassie Harrison, Angela Tezeno and Wanda Lane, with Best Hospice, for their wonderful care and compassion. Pallbearers honoring Diana : Hunter Smith, William Kirkwood, Carlos Brown, Jazmin Alvarez, Talya Alvarez and Gale Smith, Jr.
