Donald Bruce Collins, age 72, of Orange, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 in Orange, Texas. A memorial service for Don will be announced at a later date.
Don was born to parents Donald and Ada Collins on November 28, 1949 in Houston, Missouri. Don was highly intelligent educated man that taught himself about electricity, computers and ham radios. When San Franciso was hit by major earthquakes, it was Don that relayed messages to and from stranded victims using his ham radio. The Kansas Weather Service trained Don on data needed to warn about tornados and the paths they may take; it was many an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico that Don ran electrical blue prints and electrical wiring on. Don was brilliantly smart with a hilarious dry sense of humor. He will forever be cherished and missed.
Don is preceded in death by his first wife Jan Collins, his parents Donald and Ada Collins, his sister, Lynn and grandchild, Dominique Walther Bean.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife Cheryl Collins, daughters, Danielle Lloyd and husband Clint Lloyd and Tiffany Walther Bean, grandchildren, Sadie Schroeder, Marek Lloyd, Marissa LaCombe, Mason Lloyd and A.J. Ashley.
