Edith McCarver Obituary

Edith Maxine McCarver, age 77 of Hartburg, Texas, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 in Beaumont, Texas. Services to honor Edith’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Dorman Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Everhart officiating. Edith was born on September 7, 1944 in Shelbyville, Texas to parents, Edna Miller Haley and Burrett Clinton Haley. Edith worked for many years with LCM ISD. She was a faithful member of Old Laurel Baptist Church and was always excited to go worship every chance she got. She enjoyed playing games on her computer and she loved to go fishing in her younger years. But the thing that she loved most dearly, was her family and she treasured every single minute they spent together. Edith was best friends with her sweet sister Betty and will be watching over her from heaven as Betty has surgery on Thursday.  She had a wonderful caring spirit and a smile that just lit up a room. Edith will be greatly missed by all those that knew her and her love.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Darrell Lee McCarver, parents Burrett and Edna Haley, sister Billy Francis Folsom and brother Bufford Haley.

Survivors include her daughter Dianne McCarver of Hartburg, TX, son Randall Lee McCarver and his wife Wendi of Pinehurst, NC, grandsons, Michael Simmonds of Hartburg, TX and James Derek Simmonds of Baytown, TX, granddaughters, Kelsey and Chris Sanders of Columbia, SC and Katey and Samuel Adams of Holly Springs, NC, great grandchildren, Emmie and Beau Sanders of Columbia, NC, sister Betty Byrd of Orange, TX and Dorothy Louise of Vercher of Willis Point, TX, brother Delton Haley of Hartburg, TX, numerous niece and nephews.
